THUNDER BAY, ON – A national medal slipped through the fingertips of one of the top prospects in the Medicine Hat Tigers organization at the Telus Cup on Sunday.

Garin Bjorklund and the Calgary AAA Buffaloes dropped a 3-2 decision to the Tisdale AAA Trojans in Thunder Bay, Ontario to wind up fourth place finishers at the 2019 Telus Cup national midget hockey championship.

A first-tier prospect for Medicine Hat who dressed for two WHL games this past season, Bjorklund was on the bench against the Trojans and posted a 3-2 record, a 3.02 goals against, and a .900 save percentage in five games at the Telus Cup.

Former Tigers prospect Davis Chorney earned a bronze medal with the Trojans, while the Buffaloes roster also features another ex-Tigers prospect in Stephen Rosier.
