Three charged after $35,000 in stolen property seized from home

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Three people from Medicine Hat are facing multiple charges are police seized stolen property from a home in the city.

According to a release from police, officers attended a residence in the Flats after receiving information about an enclosed cargo trailer at a home that was allegedly stolen. Three people were taken into custody after police executed a search warrant at the property.

During their search, police recovered a truck, trailer, a side-by-side quad and welding equipment that were allegedly stolen. Police estimate the total value of the property seized was approximately $35,000.

Police also seized approximately 39 grams of methamphetamine during the search.

Thomas Kundert, 36, has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, and one count each of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of identity documents and possession of stolen credit cards. He is also facing two charges of failure to comply with a probation order.

Mindy Rumbolt, 23, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.

Shane Foster, 48, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Rumboldt was remanded into custody, and is scheduled to appear in Medicine Hat Provincial Court of May 8. Foster and Kundert were also remanded into custody, and were scheduled to appear in provincial court on Thursday.
