Derek Fildebrandt defeated in Chestermere-Strathmore riding

STRATHMORE, AB — The Freedom Conservative Party was completely shut out in the 2019 provincial election.

The party, started by former United Conservative Party MLA Derek Fildebrandt, failed to pick up a single seat.

Fildebrandt, who was kicked out of the United Conservative Party following several controversies, was defeated in the riding of Chestermere-Strathmore. Unofficial results from the riding show Leela Aheer from the United Conservative Party is projected to win the seat, based on 77 of 82 polls.

Fildebrandt is projected to finish in third place with seven per cent of the vote, behind NDP candidate Melissa Langmaid.
