‘I would love nothing more than a repeat’: Mavs Morrison ahead of 2019 season
MEDICINE HAT, AB — When the Medicine Hat Mavericks walked off Athletic Park as WMBL Champions last August, Greg Morrison was already well into constructing his roster for 2019.
Recruitment is a ‘365 day-a-year’ job, never-ending in today’s ever-growing competitive landscape of Canadian summer ball.
The decade-long owner spoke with several players likely to return, understood reasons why others couldn’t or weren’t willing to, and began dotting i’s and crossing t’s on his 2019 roster.
When we’re greeted with the newly-minted version of the Mavericks, we’ll recognize many names — catcher Colton Wright, first-baseman Sal Rodriguez, and outfielder Nolan Rattai just to name a few.
