UPDATE: Liberal candidate makes derogatory comments on Facebook towards UCP

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Alberta Liberal Party’s candidate has made posts on Facebook calling United Conservative Party leader Jason Kenney a Nazi.

Anwar Kamaran’s Facebook account made several posts in response to a post on a Facebook page Tuesday about Kenney’s visit to Medicine Hat.

“Foolish United Nazi conservative,” reads one post.

Another post reads, “Hhhh (sic) man you and your racisms (sic)??? We should call you Jason Nazi.”

A third post says “Moron he can’t learn for Harper? He went down the drain ? Kenny (sic) you nexttt (sic).

Alberta Liberal Leader David Khan sent us this statement:

“We apologize for social media posts made by Anwar Kamaran, our candidate in Cypress-Medicine Hat,” the statement reads.

“Mr. Kamaran made inappropriate comments hurtful to Jason Kenney in the heat of our current election campaign. They have been removed.

“Mr. Kamaran also wholeheartedly and unreservedly apologizes for his inappropriate and inaccurate comments.

“The Alberta Liberal Party endorses an inclusive, tolerant and respectful Alberta.”
