MEDICINE HAT, AB — Weather is warming up and so is the play on the golf course.

The Connaught Golf Club was able to open it’s course two weeks earlier than last year. This has lead to an increase in revenue as more people are visiting the restaurant, pro shop and the course in general.

With the good weather lately, golfers have been able to tee-off in beautiful conditions. Early on in the year, Head Golf Professional Wade Waters says no matter the weather, excited golfers will make their way out.

“I think at the start of the season everybody just just wants to get out and play the game. When they come out, they’re playing if it’s windy, it’s raining, rain or shine, they’re playing,” said Waters.

Golf season came just in time for many snow-birds coming up from the warmer weather in the states

Gary Scott, a golfer that just got back from Arizona was out for his first round of the year in Medicine Hat.

“I’m just ready to get back into the swings of things here in Medicine Hat,” said Scott, “the golfing’s been awesome so far.”
