Construction begins for Francophone school replacement

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Crews are hard at work on Sierra Boulevard Southwest, constructing a new school in the city.
Construction crews can be seen moving earth, preparing the land for the new location of École Les Cyprès.
A replacement for the French language school in the city was announced in the 2017 provincial budget. The school is currently located on First Avenue Southeast.
The new building, according to an email from Conseil scholaire FrancoSud (the Southern Francophone Education Region), will have capacity for 300 students from Grades Kindergarten to Grade 12, and say the building will be a state of the art facility.
