MEDICINE AB, — The former assistant manager of the Medicine Hat SPCA will not have her position reinstated at the organization.

De Seaton spoke with CHAT News at the beginning of February, alleging major issues within the SPCA. She was still employed as the assistant manager at the time.

Following the interview, De officially received a termination letter on February 14.

However, she believes she was wrongfully terminated, so at the end of March, she sent a letter to the acting chair of the Medicine Hat SPCA Board of Directors.

A portion of the letter read:

“As I have clearly done nothing wrong, I think I should be re-instated to my previous position forth with. I want to be clear I am not looking for back pay or any other compensation from the organization. I just want to return to the job I love.

Regards
De Seaton”

Seaton received a response from the chair on April 5, declining to reinstate her position.

The letter read:

“De,

Just found this recently as my email has changed.

The MHSPCA Board stands behind its decision.

We wish you all the best.

Tarynn Haag

MHSPCA Acting Chairman”
