Advance poll locations for Cypress-Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Residents of Cypress-Medicine Hat have several locations they can cast their ballot during advance voting for the 2019 election.

Advance voting runs from April 9-13, across Alberta, and voters have several places in the Cypress-Medicine Hat riding where they can cast their ballots.

The list can be found below.

-Cypress-Medicine Hat returning office: The returning office, located at 103-3215 Dunmore Road Southeast, is the only location in the riding offering advance voting for all five days. Voters can cast their ballots from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. from April 9-13. While the office’s address is listed as the location for the poll, returning officer Allan Bloomfield told CHAT News the actual poll location is located next door to the office, in the building next to the Pita Pit. There will be signs directing people to the poll.

-Prairie Rose School Division head office: The office, located at 918 Second Avenue in Dunmore, will allow residents to cast their ballot on Wednesday, April 10 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

-Medicine Hat College: Advance voting will take place at the college on Thursday, April 11 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

-Seven Persons Community Hall: The hall, located at 426 Drinnan Street, will allow residents to vote on Friday, April 12 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

-Elkwater Community Hall: The hall, located at 318 4th Avenue, will be open on Saturday, April 13 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

What do you need to vote?

In order to vote, you need to be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years of age and a resident of Alberta, and you must be a registered voter in order to vote.

If you are not on the list of electors, you need to provide government identification that contains your name, photo and current address, such as a driver’s licence or an Alberta identification card. If you don’t have any of those, you can provide two pieces of authorized identification. Both must have your name, and one must have your current physical address.
