GAME NOTES: Tigers to play for playoff lives in Game 6 at home
MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers are in a must win situation as they fell 5-4 in game five Friday night at Rogers Place. After trailing 4-1 at the end of the first period of play, the Tabbies pushed back and came within one. Ryan Chyzowski had a three-point night (2G, 1A) in the losing contest and he is now the Tigers’ top point producer in the series with 6 points (3G, 3A). The Orange and Black trail the Oil Kings 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Quarter Final series.
Tigers vs. Oil Kings
During the 2018-19 season, the Tigers posted a 1-3-2-0 record against the Oil Kings. The Tabbies’ lone victory was January 16th, 2019, when they won 4-3 in a shootout. These two Central Division Rivals have had a few recent postseason battles. They met in the 2016 Tie Breaker game with the Oil Kings winning 6-4 and the last time they faceoff in a playoff series was the Conference Final in 2014. The Oil Kings won the series 4-1 and they went on to win the Ed Chynoweth Cup that year.
