‘I’m at the top of my game right now’: Søgaard flush with confidence

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Freshly named a WHL All-Star, boasting the best goals-against average and save percentage of any WHL rookie netminder, it’s safe to say Mads Søgaard is high on confidence.

Although the towering import for the Medicine Hat Tigers has zero playoff experience, he’s staying level-headed, and not letting the anticipation get to him.

He’ll take the crease in Edmonton on Saturday night (7:30 p.m.) to open their best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series against the Oil Kings.

It’ll be his first taste of WHL playoff action, and he says he’s excited for the opportunity.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports caught up with Søgaard to discuss how he’s preparing for the opening round, what he believes will be the key against Edmonton, and being named to the WHL’s Eastern Conference 2nd All-Star team.
