MEDICINE HAT, AB — Welcome back, Cole Sillinger.

The 15-year-old top prospect will make his WHL playoff debut Saturday in Edmonton after being called up by the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Sillinger, selected 11th overall in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, became available after his Regina Pat AAA Canadians were eliminated from the playoffs by the Notra Dame Hounds on Wednesday night.

The major midget rookie picked up 11 points in eight playoff games on top of 76 points in 39 regular season games.

Sillinger played four games for the Tabbies during the regular season, collecting two assists and a +1 rating. His most recent appearance came March 9, making his Canalta Centre debut in a 4-2 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Although the 5’11”, 173 lbs forward was held off the scoresheet, he played consistent minutes in a top-nine role, along with time spent on the second powerplay unit.

Head coach Shaun Clouston expects him to take a similar role for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarter-final in the provincial capital.
