Tigers win final game against Kootenay ICE

CRANBROOK, BC – The Medicine Hat Tigers were victorious in their final game in Cranbrook, British Columbia on Saturday.

Taking on the Kootenay ICE for the final time before they move to Winnipeg for the 2019-2020 season, the Tigers dominated, winning 5-2 at Western Financial Place.

Ryan Jevne had a goal and three assists, while teammates Ryan Chyzowski, Linus Nassen and Brett Kemp each finished the game with a goal and an assist. Tyler Prezius scored the first goal for the Tigers.

Marco Creta and Holden Kodak scored for the ICE through the game.

Mads Søgaard stopped 29 of 31 shots faced in the Tigers’ victory.

With the victory, the Medicine Hat Tigers clinch the first wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, and will play either the Lethbridge Hurricanes or the Edmonton Oil Kings in the first round of the WHL playoffs.

The Tigers wrap up the regular season Saturday night, hosting the Hurricanes at the Canalta Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.
