MEDICINE HAT, AB – When they needed it the most, the Medicine Hat Tigers brought their best to the ice Saturday night against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

In a battle of two teams fighting for the Eastern Conference’s final few playoff spots, the Tigers were able to execute at both ends of the rink to earn a pivotal 4-2 victory over Brandon.

The win has moved the Tigers four points clear of the Wheat Kings for the final wildcard spot with 72 points, which is becoming a larger and larger gap with just three games left in the regular season.

Overager Ryan Jevne had two goals and one assist in the victory, including an 180-foot sky shot that served as the game-winner, who according to head coach Shaun Clouston is determined to keep his junior hockey career alive.

It was also a milestone night for AP call up and top prospect Cole Sillinger, who played his first career game at the Canalta Centre after three consecutive call ups this season on the road.

CHAT Sports spoke to Jevne, Clouston, Sillinger, and Hayden Ostir following Saturday’s monstrous win to get their thoughts on the Tigers stepping up to the plate against the Wheat Kings.
