MEDICINE HAT, AB – Team Zeidell isn’t fazed about the hometown pressure this week, as they’ll look to chase down a provincial curling title at the Medicine Hat Curling Club.

In just a few days, Connor Zeidell and his Medicine Hat rink will compete in the 2019 Curling Alberta U18 Provincial Championships, which will be the foursome’s first chance at a U18 provincial banner.

The local group earned the final provincial berth at a qualifying tournament in Calgary last month, booking their place among Alberta’s top young curlers.

Zeidell, Cole Lewis, Bryson Helmle, and Kolby MacDonald lost in the ‘C’ bracket qualifier in 2018, but are looking at qualifying for the U18 provincial bonspiel at home as redemption.

Gearing up for the four-day tournament, the Zeidell rink fine tuned their skills over the weekend competing in the Medicine Hat Curling Club’s annual Men’s Bonspiel.

CHAT Sports caught up with the Team Zeidell skip on Saturday to get his thoughts on the upcoming U18 championships and what he expects it will be like to go for gold at home.
