McCoy Colts book ticket to provincial championship

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Monsignor McCoy SV Colts are one step closer to capturing a provincial championship.

The senior girls knocked off the Crescent Heights Vikings 76-52 in the 3A South Zone semifinals Friday afternoon in Taber, booking their ticket to the ASAA Girls Basketball Championships next week in Athabasca.

The girls will take on either the W.R. Myers Rebels or Eagle Butte Talons at 4:00 p.m for the South Zone banner.

Last year, the young ladies earned bronze at provincials with a 72-48 win over the Wetaskiwin Composite Sabres. Their first and only championship came in 2017 — a dramatic 46-41 victory over the Rebels at the Family Leisure Centre.
