MEDICINE HAT, AB — Bob Ridley says he’s flattered to be included in Hockey Alberta’s Hall of Fame class of 2019.

The iconic broadcaster, who’s masterful play-by-play call has withstood the 49-year history of the Medicine Hat Tigers, will join several illustrious members on the wall in June.

In fact, the longest serving member of the CHAT airwaves holds a close tie to another inductee — the two Tigers squads which hoisted the 1987 and 1988 Memorial Cups.

Ridley was on the mic for every goal through both of those championship runs, and says he’s still very close with many members of those teams.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports spoke with Ridley to hear his thoughts on having his name etched into the Hall, and where this stacks up among the many accolades the legend has earned through the years.
