United We Roll convoy back in Alberta

Medicine Hat, AB – A convoy of trucks that descended on Parliament Hill is back in Alberta.

Mike Bahr drove a truck in the United We Roll Convoy and says it was an emotional and exhausting trip.

“I’ll tell you it was a long journey, a lot of ups and downs,” explained Bahr. “I’m not an emotional person, but I shed some tears in a lot of the little towns. It was just incredible.”

He says the group received overwhelming support from residents in every province, but Bahr doesn’t feel the mission was a complete success, given the Prime Minister was a no-show.

“I don’t feel like we’ve accomplished, but it’s definitely a start. We’re going to keep on rolling with it until it does accomplish something, until Trudeau does notice us.”

After making his way back to Alberta, Bahr says he has a completely different impression of eastern Canada.

“People stereotype every province and everyone thought Ontario was against Alberta, Saskatchewan and so on. They actually proved to us it was the complete opposite. Ontario people were amazing and the support was incredible. It was one heck of a journey.”

Bahr says there is some initial talk among convoy participants about another trip in May, but nothing is official yet.

“This entire thing was a life-changing experience and if we go again in May, I’m sure DD2 will put trucks in there again.”
