ALERT arrest three following drug investigations in Brooks

BROOKS, AB — Brooks RCMP, along with Medicine Hat’s members of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team, have arrested three people for alleged drug trafficking in two separate investigations.

Muktar Abdo Mohammed, 30, was charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking after police executed a search warrant at a Brooks apartment.

Investigators seized 176 grams of crack and powder cocaine with an estimated street value of more than $17,600. Officers also seized drug paraphernalia during the investigation.

The second investigation occurred on December 12, 2018, following a vehicle stop near Bassano. Officers seized 115 grams of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $6,900, along with a set of brass knuckles.

ALERT alleges the occupants of the vehicle were transporting drugs from Calgary to Brooks.

Joshua Slaney, 29, and Lisa Windsor, 33, have both been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Windsor has also been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
