MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat SPCA Board of Directors has released a statement saying they’re in the process to do a full, thorough, transparent and independent investigation.

On February 7 the SPCA Board of Directors said they were in the process of hiring an outside independent consultant to review recent allegations.

On Tuesday, former assistant manager of the SPCA, De Seaton released her own statement saying she’d been approached by a company named Three Sixty Analysis Inc, hired to conduct the investigation.

The SPCA’s full statement reads:

“We are in the process to do a full, thorough, transparent and independent investigation. We want to assure the public that we are committed to our Mission Statement, our staff and most definitely our animals. The current steps we are taking is completing a Workplace Culture Assessment and an Independent Investigation into the allegations recently made against us through the media. The MHSPCA is confident in the services we have retained by Three Sixty Analysis Inc. and in order to maintain the integrity of the investigation we will not be making any comments until it is complete. We are confident that the investigative and review process will provide our organization with the information required to move forward and provide the highest quality of service and animal care.”

CHAT News asked the SPCA how the investigation is being funded, but they declined to comment. It’s also unknown how long the investigation will be.
