MEDICINE HAT, AB – A bittersweet goodbye to two members of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers women’s volleyball team on Saturday, as they wrapped up their 2018-19 season with a win.

The Rattlers knocked off the SAIT Trojans in four sets (25-22, 25-16, 16-25, 25-12) at the ‘Snake Pit’ to end their year with a 12-12 record, just on the outside of the playoff picture.

It was an emotional night for third-year McKenzie Griffith and second-year Britney Kasdorf, who each played their final match in a Rattlers uniform.

The pair will not be back in black and yellow next season, as they are both in Medicine Hat College’s nursing program which ramps up over the last few years.

They made the most out of their last ACAC volleyball game however, as Griffith was named player of the game with seven kills, six aces and four digs, while Kasdorf had five kills, three aces, and five digs.

While the Rattlers playoff drought continues, head coach Kim Stonehouse said they’re expecting many of their top players such as Amber Stigter, Janelle Neyron, Shaya Suchy, and Brooke Christie to return.

Following Saturday’s regular season finale, CHAT Sports spoke with Griffith and Stonehouse about the two players leaving the organization as well as expectations for next fall.
