Feb 18, 2019 | 8:54 AM

INNISFAIL, AB — RCMP are asking for the public’s help to name the newest German Shepherd puppies born at the Police Dog Service Training Centre in Innisfail.

Officers are looking for names for the 13 newest dogs.

The names must begin with the letter “M,” have no more than nine letters, and must be one or two syllables.

Canadian children aged 14 years old and younger can enter the contest. Only one entry per child is accepted.

Winning names will be chosen by training centre staff, and will be announced on April 30.

Children with the winning names will receive a laminated photo of the dog they’ve named, a plush dog and an RCMP baseball cap.

Names not selected for the contest will be considered for other puppies born at the centre during the year.

Entries can be made online here or by mailing a letter at the address below. Entries must be received by March 26.
