MEDICINE HAT, AB— 115 years after opening, Medicine Hat’s Royal Hotel has closed down, effective immediately.
The closure was announced in a Facebook post from the hotel on Wednesday night.
Royal Hotel was serving as a live music venue and a bar. The hotel upstairs had eighteen rooms but was not in use.
The property was on sale last July for just under $1.5 million dollars.
The bar at the Royal Hotel is still available for lease.
