Hounds lose first game since November over weekend; rebound with win on Sunday

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Hounds lost their first game since November over the weekend.

The Midget AA team had their 17 game winning streak snapped on Saturday, falling 5-4 to the Olds Grizzlies. However, the Hounds quickly rebounded on Sunday, topping the CHBA Blackhawks 5-2.

Lucas Mulholland , Payton Wright and Cash Regan each had a goal and an assist for the Grizzlies during the game. Logan Richards and Tyler Rude added the remaining goals.

Brandon Karsdorf had a goal and an assist for the Hounds, with Zachary Dovichak, Brady Dovichak and Ryley Manz also scoring goals through the game. Ryley Manz had a pair of assists.

The Hounds outshot the Grizzlies 42-22 through the game.

During Sunday’s game, Manz, Karsdorf, Brayden Anderson, Connor Miller and Peyton Cox all found the back of the net for the Hounds. Scoring information for the Blackhawks was not available.

Teron Funk made 33 saves for the Hounds during Sunday’s game.

The Hounds lead the South Conference with a 20-5-4 record, and return to action Friday, hosting the Foothills Bisons at the Kinplex at 7:15 p.m.

On Saturday, the Hounds travel to Okotoks to take on the Oilers. The game begins at 8 p.m.
