MEDICINE HAT, AB — Wheelchair basketball continues to grow at an impressive rate in Medicine Hat.

Since introducing the sport just two years ago, Medicine Hat Adaptive Sport and Recreation have welcomed enough players to field a full-sized, competitive team.

Last year, the Medicine Hat Mustangs traveled out-of-town to participate in a number of tournaments.

This year, another milestone was reached by co-hosting its first tournament at the Family Leisure Centre.

Mitch Bach of CHAT Sports tells us more about the tournament. Plus, player Trent Trousdell explains how the sport continues to gain traction in the community, and program coordinator Tara Chisholm discusses how all-inclusion sports encourage athletes of all abilities to live a healthy, active lifestyle.
