Montana’s set to re-open in March

Medicine Hat, AB – After Montana’s unexpectedly closed their doors in the summer of 2017, it’s now official they will be re-opening in the immediate future.

New franchise owner Gary Modh confirmed the announcement today.

“We are opening around March 20,” explained Modh. “We then plan on doing some renovations around May with the grand re-opening scheduled for May 20.”

Modh said he doesn’t know the exact cost of the renovations however, that number will be finalized in March. He did add the renovations will be coming to both the interior and exterior of the building.

Modh then stated the name for the location will be changed from ‘Montana’s Cookhouse Saloon’ to ‘Montana’s BBQ and Bar’. 

Before they re-open their doors to customers, Modh said they are looking to hire approximately 100 new members of staff.

“We are hiring all positions right now, full-time and part-time. We’re looking to fill positions for servers, bartenders, cooks, that sort of stuff.”

A job-fair for Montana’s BBQ and Bar will take place on February 15th, 16th and 22nd from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Baymont Hotel.

Modh said after 14-years in the restaurant business, he’s ready to give Medicine Hat the Montana’s it deserves.

“We can’t really speculate on how things were ran before, just know that we’re going to do things differently. I love the City of Medicine Hat and this seemed like a nice opportunity for me, which is why I decided to take it over.”
