Loan to Riverview Golf Club being discussed

REDCLIFF, AB— The town of Redcliff may be loaning the Riverview Golf Club $315,000.

The loan has received first reading. The loan will need to pass through two more readings to be passed.

The loan would have a repayment period of ten years. It would also require the club to regularly provide financial information to the town.

The loan will be used to help the club recover from the $405,000 debt they were in after the last golfing season. The club did name a new board, who then approached council asking for help to be a “more viable organization over the long-term,” according to Arlos Crofts, Redcliff Municipal Manager.
