MEDICINE HAT, AB – Technology in the classroom has grown by leaps and bounds over the last decade, and you need to turn to just one local elementary school to prove it.

Since Christmas, a pair of 3D printers have been running at Ecole St. John Paul II School churning out a number of items including toys, games, and classroom items.

It’s part of the school’s ‘Maker Space’ lab, which also teaches students coding and video production among other technological studies.

Students will use the printers more in the coming weeks and will be able to incorporate colour into their creations after receiving new coloured filaments.

CHAT News spoke to vice-principal Terry Kennedy on Wednesday about what learning opportunities the 3D printers will bring.
