Midget AA Hounds win games over weekend, sit in first place in South Conference

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Midget AA Hounds won both of their home games over the weekend.

Medicine Hat topped the Lethbridge Hurricane Hounds on Saturday, and were victorious over the Wheatland Chiefs on Sunday. Both games had a 5-1 score, and took place at the Kinplex.

During Saturday’s game, Brandon Karsdorf had two goals and two assists for Medicine Hat, and Jacob Milne scored twice. Brayden Anderson had the other goal for his team, while Ryley Manz had two assists.

Matthew Hoffart had the lone goal for Lethbridge.

Nate Hoffman earned the win in goal, making 18 saves.

On Sunday, Manz, Brady Dovichak, Kyden Moore, Levi Schlosser and Payten Cox all scored for Medicine Hat during the game. Caleb Irvine, Brandon Hauck and Jacob Milne each had two assists during the game.

Terron Funk made 30 saves for Medicine Hat during the game.

Brian Butland scored for the Chiefs in the first period.

Medicine Hat, who currently holds a 16-4-4 record in the South Conference of the South Central Alberta Hockey League, hits the road this weekend for a pair of games. They play the Airdrie Lightning on Saturday at 1:30 p.m., and play the CNHA Blaxers at the Max Bell Centre on Sunday at noon.
