Kemp to make Tigers debut vs. Pats

MEDICINE HAT, AB — Just a few hours after arriving in Medicine Hat, Brett Kemp will make his debut in a Tigers uniform.

The 18-year-old, acquired from the Edmonton Oil Kings in a deadline deal which saw former first round pick Josh Williams sent to the provincial capital, will be in the line-up when the Tabbies host the Regina Pats at the Canalta Centre on Friday.

He won’t have to wait long to face his former team, either.

Kemp and company welcome the Oil Kings to town Saturday and next Wednesday, which will also feature Williams laced in Edmonton threads.

Kemp, a product of Yorkton, SK, has 22 goals and 39 points in 40 games with the Oil Kings this season. He also has a connection to Tigers alternate captain Ryan Chyzowski — both were invited to Vegas Golden Knights development camp last summer.

Tigers head coach Shaun Clouston said Kemp will probably center a line between Elijah Brown and alternate captain Bryan Lockner, who returns to the line-up after passing concussion protocol.

Clouston also confirmed Jordan Hollett will get the start in goal on Friday, taking on his former team.
