Midget AA Hounds earn win, tie during weekend home games

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Midget AA Hounds finished their home stand with a win and a tie over the weekend.

On Friday, the Hounds hosted the Calgary CRAA Gold, winning 7-4, while they tied against the Red Deer CanPro 5-5 on Saturday. Both games took place at the Kinplex.

During Friday’s game, Jacob Milne and Brayden Anderson each scored twice, while Connor Miller had a goal and an assist. Ty Olinski and Zachary Dovichak both scored once during the game. Brandon Kasdorf had four assists.

Terron Funk earned the win in goal, making 31 saves. Both teams had 35 shots.

No scoring information was available for the CRAA Gold.

During Saturday’s Game, Anderson, Milne, Brandon Hauck, Caleb Irvine and Ryley Manz scored for the Hounds.

Colby Phillips had two goals for Red Deer.

Both Funk and Nate Hoffman shared goaltender duties for the Hounds, making 21 saves on 26 shots.

Red Deer’s Zaiden Hansen made 36 saves on 41 shots.

The Hounds currently lead the South Central Alberta Hockey League’s South Conference with a 13-4-4 record.

They return to action Saturday, when they hit the road to face the West Central Tigers. The game begins at 5:30 p.m.
