Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – January 3

Mad Hatter

I accidentally left a shopping bag in the washroom at the mall and when I went back shortly after to see if it was still there, someone had taken it. I had hoped that it would have been turned in at Guest Services or the store I purchased the items from but it wasn’t. It’s disappointing to see that someone would be dishonest and keep something that didn’t belong to them.

Medicine Hat utilities are terrible. Yes, I can heat my house for less in January but just can’t use any power. Looking at all the maintenance fees the city charges is ridiculous. Maybe city should look at ways to reduce admin fees. Charge for paper bills? Change garbage pickup to once every two weeks. Charge for those who need two bins extra pickup fees? Charge per pickup of garbage (the bins have a chip in them, should be easy enough to do), giving those that reduce waste a break.

Happy Hatter

Looking forward to the weather this week! I’m happy to be starting 2019 off with positive temperatures.

I guess people only hear what they want to hear, but the fact of the matter is…council did not give themselves a raise, their pay was adjusted because the tax-free portion was taken away by the federal government. Ultimately their pay is net ZERO in terms of increases. Please get the details before you spew lies and half-truths.

Happy Hatter

Wonder if the Conservatives are taking notes of the protestors that is going on around your province that you ruled for 9/44 years & got NO pipelines to ANY tidewater. We can’t totally blame current governments on your mismanagement.

Mad Hatter

Just saw the news article about the latest check stop and 1,388 vehicles which were stopped and 100% were screened for alcohol breath sample. I am not against check stops and would have no problem providing a breath sample but are the police not better trained to spot people that have been drinking? A 100% alcohol breath sample appears to be a massive waste of resources. I would rather see police trained better and this figure dropped to 15-25% at most based on an individual’s actions, demeanor and ability to interact with police.
