Dog owners reminded about changes at Saamis Site

MEDICINE HAT, AB — New rules have come into effect for what was once an off-leash dog park in the city.

A sign has been posted near the tunnel in Kin Coulee park, which leads to the Saamis Archaeological Site, reminding dog owners that as of January 1st, their four-legged friends need to be kept on-leash and to stick to the designated trails.

There is still an off-leash water access on site.

Many dog owners have said they aren’t happy about the change, but the city said the site is showing signs of wear and tear.
