Bandits clobber Canucks 10-2
BROOKS, AB – The Brooks Bandits (32-3) scored twice on their first two shots, in just 25 seconds, and never looked back, en route to a dominant 10-2 win over the visiting Calgary Canucks on Saturday night.
The win extended the Bandits’ lead over Drumheller for first in the AJHL South division to 18 points, with their lead over Sherwood Park for first overall holding at 10 points.
Ryan Mahshie (Stoney Creek, ON) scored first just 19 seconds into the game when he wired a shot post-and-in from the right circle. After the centre ice faceoff, Ray Christy (St. Paul, MN) slipped crossing the blue line, but still fired a shot from one knee that skipped off the glove of Calgary goalie Jonah
Chambers and into the net to double the lead.
