High School Basketball recap: Mohawks top Raymond, Colts fall to St. Joseph’s

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat High School Mohawks improved to a 2-0 record on the season Tuesday evening.

The Mohawks topped the Raymond Comets 113-107 in front of a home crowd at the Hat High gymnasium.

Bailey Gosse led the way for the Mohawks, scoring 33 points according to the scoring summary. For the Mohawks, Eidan Jonker scored 19 points, Fred Kabore scored 16 points, Austin Walton scored 15 points and Aiden Gripp scored 11 points.

Shae Gibb led the Comets with 31 points, with teammate Jeter Heggie scoring 28 points.

The Mohawks next league game is in Magrath on December 18, as they take on the Zeniths. The game begins at 8 p.m.

Colts defeated

The Monsignor McCoy High School Colts were narrowly defeated by St. Joseph’s High School on Tuesday.

St. Joseph’s were able to come away with an 81-75 victory, despite a late push from the Colts.

Ethan Smith led the Colts with 30 points, with teammate Ayden Miller scoring 18.

The Colts will be heading to Cochrane for a tournament this weekend, taking on Henry Wisewood at 10:45 a.m. on Friday.
