MEDICINE HAT, AB — A 27-year-old woman is facing several charges after a hit and run late last month.

A 12-year-old boy had been crossing at Carry Drive SE and Southview Drive SE back on November 28th when he was hit by a Ford F-350 while in the marked crosswalk.

The person driving the truck put the boy in the vehicle and left before witnesses could stop them.

The boy was dropped off at home and the driver left without leaving behind any information.

The child did suffer a head injury in the collision.

Police say the public helped them track down vehicle, which led them to the 27-year-old driver.

She’s facing several charges, including fail to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, fail to report an accident to police and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s licence.
