Senior Kwahommies victorious on basketball court

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat High School Kwahommies senior girls team were victorious on the basketball court Monday night.

The Kwahommies edged out the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Clippers 77-74 in front of a home crowd at the Hat High gymnasium.

According to the final scoring sheet, Jordyn Knight led the Kwahommies with 22 points during the game, with Kyla Kearley scoring 18 points, Emma Wintoniak scoring 16 points and Taya Karsten scoring 10.

Scoring for the Clippers was led by Berkley Heggie, who scored 19 points, followed by Krista Nelson with 18 points.

In the junior varsity game, the Kwahommies were downed 72-49 by the Clippers.

Emily Hall led the Clippers with 13 points. Tyra Moch scored 10 points for the Kwahommies.

The Kwahommies return to action on Wednesday, as they travel to Taber to battle the W.R. Meyers Rebels. The junior game gets underway at 6 p.m., while the senior game begins at 8 p.m.
