SWIFT CURRENT, SASK. — A 26-year-old Swift Current man who has been missing since last month was located deceased over the weekend by RCMP.

Colton Koop, 26, was reported missing on November 16, the same day a red Dodge pickup truck was found in Swift Current Creek. RCMP in Swift Current reported they made contact with the truck’s registered owner, who said Koop would have had access to the truck at the time.

On Saturday morning, a RCMP dive team located Koop’s body under the ice, upstream from the location of the truck in the water.

RCMP say the truck could have gone into the creek as early at 2 a.m., but it was not reported to police until 6 a.m.

RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
