Regional unemployment rate dips below 4 per cent

MEDICINE HAT, AB. — The Medicine Hat-Lethbridge region has the lowest unemployment rate in Alberta.
 
Stats Canada says it was 3.9 per cent in November.
 
That compares to 4.1 per cent in October and 5.4 per cent at this time last year.

Canada’s unemployment rate is at it’s lowest level since Stats Canada began measuring comparable data more than 40 years ago.
 
Over 94 thousand new jobs last month lowered the rate to 5.6 per cent.
 
Most of the new jobs were full time.  It’s the largest increase since March of 2012.
