Rattlers sign left side hitter Auger for 2019-2020 season

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat College Rattlers are off until the new year, but that doesn’t mean the recruiting process stops over the holidays.

On Monday, the Rattlers men’s volleyball team announced the signing of left side Waylon Auger for the 2019-20 ACAC season.

Auger will join the Rattlers after two years playing for the Olds College Broncos, leading his team with 181 kills and 18 service aces during his final year in 2016-17.

While offence is his specialty, the Wabasca product also averaged close to one and a half digs per set during that season.

In a post on Facebook on Monday, the Rattlers describe Auger as a valued team leader on the court and in the community, and added he will be studying education during his time at Medicine Hat College.

The Rattlers men’s volleyball team currently sits tied for fourth place in the South Division with a 6-6 record and will be in the hunt for a playoff spot when the second half of the season begins.

Both the men’s and women’s volleyball teams will return to the court on January 4 in Caronport, Saskatchewan to kick off a weekend series against the Briercrest Clippers.
