Mad Hatter & Happy Hatter – Dec 3

Dec 3, 2018 | 7:07 AM

Happy Hatter
So thankful to the man who cleared off all the sidewalks on our street with his snow blower. I don’t even know who he is, but what a kind act!

The postal negotiations have been going on for a year. Why didn’t the government step in 6 months ago?  There would have been ample time to settle before it came to this crisis. Most retail businesses depend on the Christmas sales for their profit. This year is going to see many struggling or going under because of this strike. It matters not if the postal workers are right or wrong when they cause this amount of damage. As for the people complaining about late packages – buy local and support your community as was done before the internet.

I would be a happy hatter if someone opened a second automated car wash in Crescent Heights. The existing one is so busy you have to wait 30 minutes to get in!

That the city is going to make some money off that Primrose open area. If the residents there don’t like it, they should volunteer for higher property taxes. The revenue generated from the sale and development benefits every resident, not just snooty home owners in the area.

Mad Hatter
Why do people coming out of or going into stores feel they don’t need to check for moving vehicles.  Many times, I have seen people walk directly in front of a moving vehicles without checking to ensure the driver sees them.  Walmart parking lot is the worst.

Mad Hatter
Some people complain if their ice cream is cold in this city. They should make the green space (it’s not a park) around Primrose into a fenced off leash area for dogs.

Disappointing to hear people bash letter carriers and other Canada Post employees. If it weren’t for union employees willing to strike, we wouldn’t have things like: weekends, paid vacations, maternity leave, minimum wage, CPP, universal health care, sick leave, overtime, holiday pay etc. The list goes on and on. Be thankful someone has the guts to strike (and live off a reduced wage while doing so) to ensure they, and by proxy YOU, are treated somewhat fairly by your employer.

Unhappy with voters that compare the “Trudeau” name. He bought the pipeline for Albertan’s. He has spent millions in Alberta more than his father ever did. He followed previous government standards on TMX & we all are seeing now how that turned out. Let’s look at the Phoenix payroll that started with the mess of conservatives again. How about no pipelines to tidewater in 40+ years?

I find it sad that our local MLA can speak so low of our Premier. Seems as though our MLA has forgot the 40+ years his party was in power and why didn’t they initiate and encourage any projects to increase supply to current markets and open access to new ones? (Like our Premier is trying to do) ipelines take longer than a party will usually remain in power, as per the article Thursday November 29th stated by the local political science instructor.  How many pipelines could have been built in the last 40 + years? Maybe they could have purchased rail cars and engines as well?  Easy to point a finger and blame when someone is standing in front of your mess.  These things could have been done over the last 4 decades as well.

Mad Hatter
The mall charges a maintenance fee on their gift cards…what a joke!
