MEDICINE HAT, AB — It’s going to cost more to stream Netflix Canada in the future.

According to the Financial Post, the company will be raising prizes on its standard plan by $3 to $13.99 per month. The plan allows users to watch content on two screens.

The premium plan, which allows up to four users to watch content, will also rise by $3, now costing $16.99 per month.

The basic plan, which allows one stream and no ultra-high definition options, will now cost $9.99/ month, up $1.

Netflix Canada last raised its prices a year and a half ago. The prices are automatic for new subscribers, while current subscribers will be notified of the changes in the coming weeks.

The company says in a statement the price increases are to help the company add more exclusive content to the service.

The price increase comes as other companies are looking to dominate the streaming market in the coming year. Bell Media’s Crave TV has launched a higher-priced tier called Crave+, which includes recent movies and HBO programming. Disney is also launching its streaming service, called Disney+, in 2019.
