MEDICINE HAT, AB — Joel Craven has resumed full-contact practices.

Medicine Hat Tigers head coach Shaun Clouston told CHAT Sports the 18-year-old defenceman was cleared by medical staff this week, and can swap out his yellow ‘no-hit’ jersey for his usual practice threads.

“We just need to get him a few more skates, some contact practices in,” he said, noting Craven won’t play Wednesday night against Red Deer, but is expected to lace up this weekend.

Craven has missed the last 14 games with concussion-like symptoms. He last played Oct. 19 against Lethbridge.

In 10 games this season, the son to former Tigers great Murray Craven has been held off the score sheet with a -5 rating and seven shots on goal. He tallied one goal and six helpers in 33 games as a rookie last year.
