MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Medicine Hat Tigers will be short-handed heading into Friday when they host the league-leading Prince Albert Raiders.

Forward Elijah Brown and defenceman Joel Craven remain on the injured list, with Brown currently nursing a sprained shoulder, and Craven dealing with concussion-like symptoms.

Tigers head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston says Brown’s injury occurred during last week’s road game against the Saskatoon Blades following an awkward hit.

“He’s doing better today than he was when it first happened,” he said. “It’s probably weeks more than just days, but maybe it’s a couple of weeks.”

Craven has missed the last 12 games due to his injury, but Clouston says he’s could be back in the lineup next week.

“He’s going to see one more guy this weekend, so the word is potentially on Wednesday,” he said. “And yet, we’ll have to make sure he gets in some good practice and gets up to speed with the contact. He’s been skating for a while now, just not a lot of contact or no contact.”

Puck drop against the Raiders is at 7:30 p.m. at the Canalta Centre.
