Medicine Hat, AB- Both Environment Canada and The Weather Network have issued a freezing rain warning for most of southern Alberta.

Unfortunately, that does include Medicine Hat.

As the day moves on and temperatures rise, the risk of freezing rain will most likely end.

For the time being, surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.

It is recommended that individuals monitor the weather stations frequently until the warning has been rescinded.
