Nov 10, 2018 | 1:09 PM

MEDICINE HAT, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers will try to keep their record floating above .500 on Saturday night, welcoming their divisional rivals from Edmonton to the Canalta Centre.

Winding up their three-game home stand against the Oil Kings, the Tigers are looking to rebound after falling 3-1 to Gary Haden and the Saskatoon Blades on Friday evening.

Josh Williams has been firing on all cylinders recently for Medicine Hat after a goalless drought to begin the season, but has since netted three goals and six points in his last five games.

Tigers vs. Oil Kings

This will be the second meeting of these two Central Division rivals this season. The Oil Kings took the first contest 3-2 in Edmonton earlier this season. The Orange and Black have not lost at home to the Oil Kings since a 2-1 tilt in September 2014 and they are 18-2-0-0 against the Oil Kings over the past five years.

View from Edmonton

The Edmonton Oil Kings defeated the Kootenay ICE 5-2 Friday night and they are sitting atop the Central Division with an 11-7-1-1 record. The Oil Kings are led by Columbus Blue Jacket prospect Trey Fix-Wolansky with 40 points (12G, 28A) so far this season and veteran forward Quinn Benjafield with 23 points (8G, 15A).

Tigers Talent

Elijah Brown is a gritty, fearless forward with an offensive upside. The 18-year-old Edmonton native uses his speed to create opportunity all over the ice and he isn’t afraid to mix it up. Brown’s work ethic and creativity make him a fun player for fans to watch. Look for Brown to drive to the net and create scoring lanes in Saturday’s tilt.

Captain’s Corner

James Hamblin is leading the Tigers this season as the team’s top point producer with 9 goals and 14 assists so far. The 19-year-old Edmonton product is a two-way forward with a tireless work ethic that leads his team by example. “Work ethic is something I’ve always prided myself on. I was never the most skilled guy so I would get by on hard work,” said Hamblin.
