McClintic transferred from healing lodge to prison, says Tori Stafford’s father

OTTAWA — A woman convicted in the murder of Tori Stafford has been transferred from a healing lodge to a prison, accoring to Stafford’s father.

According to Global News, Rodney Stafford posted on Facebook that Terri-Lynne McClintic has been transferred from the Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge in Maple Creek to a federal prison.

McClintic was convicted in 2010 in the abduction, rape and murder of the eight-year-old Stafford. She was eight years into a life sentence when she was transferred from a prison in Ontario to the healing lodge.

The news caused controversy across the country, and led to the federal government reviewing and making changes to how it conducts prison transfers.
