MEDICINE HAT, AB – Locals will get their first look at renovations to the Strathcona Centre next week as part of an open house celebration.

The City of Medicine Hat will be holding an open house on Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm to show off improvements made to the senior’s complex over the last few months.

Serving as Medicine Hat’s main senior’s centre over the last five years while the new Veiner Centre was completed, the Strathcona Centre closed in July for numerous renovations.

According to the City, these renovations included electrical upgrades for their workout equipment, making their washrooms barrier free, and installing a new storage room.

An indoor multi-purpose space will also be shown off that can accommodate table tennis, line dancing, floor curling, bocce ball, and pickleball.

The City offers memberships to access both the Veiner Centre and Strathcona Centre for $100 per year, with extra costs added on for those wanting to use the fitness facilities.
