Australia’s Glaetzer wins men’s sprint at track cycling World Cup in Canada

MILTON, Ont. — Australia’s Matthew Glaetzer beat Harrie Lavreysen of the Netherlands by 0.093 seconds to win the men’s sprint final on Sunday at a UCI World Cup track cycling event in Milton, Ont.

Jeffrey Hoogland of the Netherlands beat Nathan Hart of Australia in the bronze-medal final. Hugo Barrette of Magdalen Islands, Que., did not qualify for the quarterfinals.

Denmark won the men’s Madison with 38 points, followed by Great Britain (28) and the United States (25).

On the women’s side, American Madalyn Godby took gold in the Keirin, followed by Australia’s Stephanie Morton and Colombia’s Martha Bayona Pineda.
