MEDICINE HAT, AB — A former Mountie on trial for sexual assault took the stand today during the third day of his trial.

Elliot Teed testified in the Medicine Hat Court of Queen’s Bench on Wednesday. He has pleaded not guilty to one count of sexual assault and two counts of breach of trust.

The alleged incident occurred during a checkstop near Bow Island in February 2015.

A woman alleged Teed touched her breast in a sexual manner during the checkstop. The woman cannot be identified due to a publication ban.

During his testimony, Teed denied that he touched the woman inappropriately during the checkstop. He also denied that he made inappropriate remarks to the woman that night.

Teed resigned from the RCMP one year ago.

The trial continues on Thursday.
